Meet Maggie

Here's another sweet little girl that's filling my days with smiles while Emma's at school. I have been babysitting Maggie for a couple of weeks now but I haven't posted anything about her because I kept forgetting to ask her mother if it was okay. I try to be careful not to post something about someones elses child without their permission. Anyway, my friend Mandy hooked me up with one of the teachers at Emma's school and I am watching her baby. It works out really nicely because it makes me only have school teacher hours. We won't have to worry about planning vacations around my job because we'd be planning them around Emma's school anyway.

Maggie is a sweet sweet baby and Chloe will have a nice little playmate in just a few months. Even though she's trying hard to get her up and moving now! And we're well on our way because she just started rolling over. Right now, I spend a lot of the days making sure Chloe doesn't kill her. But really she's doing well with her and they both seem to light up when they see each other. I have there naps staggered so they are only awake together about three hours a day and I still have two hours with both of them sleeping so that I can get some house work done. Maggie also indulges me and hams it up for the camera as you can see so I'm snapping away because I know that those days of her sitting still are limited!

Cute kid, but I have to ask...how small IS Maggie? She fit in a coffee cup? That's awesome! ;-)

How precious is she?? It's nice that she's so easy to photograph because it will give you extra practice with babies. Her Momma is pretty darn lucky to have landed a babysitter that lets her baby be in a home with a family (meaning tons of one-on one, err two-on-one attention, and no endless bouts of runny noses and sickness that gets passed around at daycares- I know about this personally) AND takes beautiful pictures of her darling. It sounds like you are enjoying soaking up all the baby sweetness too!! Hope to see more pics! I've been having a little withdrawl - you don't seem to be posting as many pictures lately. I know you are busy - but get snapping girl!! Love you!!!

I love that last picture. She is adorable. :)

What kind of new lens did you get, I love it whatever it is.

Jay,
The lens is 85 mm fixed lens with a 1.8 F stop. It is an adjustment learning to use a fixed lens but getting an adjustable one with that kind of clarity and sharpness and that F stop would cost thousands of dollars. I can pretty much take pictures anywhere in my house with no flash. Speaking of dollars, I'm really itching for a D40. I feel like I've tapped out my abilities with this equipment..

Those pictures are so cute. Thanks for your comments on my blog, I appreciate them. You had asked about my camera and lens. It nothing special, just (the old now) Canon Rebel XT with the lens that came with it. It has been great. I'm sure there is a whole lot more I could do with it, but I have a hard time sitting down and learning. Any tips you have on things you do would be helpful!

Ha! Tony's comment made me laugh. Where DID you get that mug?? Maggie is adorable... what a wonderful "job"!

The mug is actually a flower pot from Walmart. I bought it to take Chloe's picture in it and she was too big for it :(. But I'm just loving miss Maggie in it. She fit just perfectly!

I am thankful everyday that we found you and don't think there is anyone better out there! You were truly an answer to our prayers. I am glad to be your "job" provider.
