Since it's been a while since I got pictures of the girls, I decided today was the day. I had thought we'd make a trip to the pumpkin patch but the temp is cool and with ear infections abounding, this didn't seem like the best plan. So I ran each girl outside for a few seconds and snapped just a few. None of them were big fans of the idea.. So here is what we got.
First up is Maggie. Okay now for any new person that I might have stumble across here, Often when I refer to "my girls" I am including Maggie. I babysit Maggie. She's a part time child.. She fits in just fine but we all know that I could never have a child as calm as Maggie. Usually, Maggie is all smiles for her pictures but today, she had more of a look that said she was thinking, "oh my goodness lady, have you lost your mind? Can't you tell it's cold out here"? I promise we were only out there a couple of minutes..
Though the temperature was cooler, the lighting was much better this time of the day. By the time I got to Chloe, the sun was too high over head which is why they are in black and white. I do like black and white photography but I do black and white a lot because I'm not happy with the color.
Chloe was actually more cooperative than normal which is weird considering she STILL has an ear infection. That's right we're on our third round of antibiotics for this one infection. But I'm not going to go into anymore about that or I'll start crying.. Seriously, I feel panic when I think about it... Anyway, she was compliant but it wasn't the best time of day..
And last but not least is Emma. She kept wanting to lay her head on her shoulder or put arms out or give me the Chandler smile. But, I did sneak one that I liked pretty well. Again, wasn't crazy about the color..
Hopefully, I will get a chance to get some better ones but if not, this moment in time is officially documented.
Blessings,
Dana
AHHH! Look at EMMA! How did she get so big? I am really having a hard time with how big they are, Sarah Jane too...
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures, the 2nd one of Chloe is my favorite. She looks like so much fun!
Obviously, the above comment was from me... I didn't realize that George was logged in until it was too late. OOPS. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll bet the color versions look pretty great too. However, the b&w looks pretty sassy with your new layout. You made my day by sharing pics of all of your beautiful girls :). thank you for sharing your gift.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are great! You do such a good job! I'm so sorry you are having such a difficult time with the girl's sickies. I hope these antibiotics work and quickly! You definitely need to get away and sleep!!!
ReplyDeleteThose look so good! I am having the hardest time shooting pictures on my digital SLR in the sunlight. Do you convert your images over to B&W or do you shoot them in B&W on your camera? I am still trying to learn so much!
ReplyDeleteI took Abby Kate outside yesterday and got several cute pictures, but the sun was unruly. I'm going to try and convert them to B&W today.
Hey Dana,
ReplyDeleteYour girls are so adorable! Emma is so big! It's unbelievable how time flies. Emma is so cute!
I'll be praying Chloe gets well soon!
Love,
Leanna
Chloe's pictures are adorable! She looks so happy- maybe that will rub off on Maggie next time. Emma is going to be a heart breaker. I like the B&W- they look so professional (hence the release on file at Walgreens). Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! tony totally has the camera bug, now!
ReplyDeletewell, i know how you feel, but i think these are great. I need to email you, but I was wondering what you might recommend for a second lens, other than the typical kit one. I was thinking about getting a fixed one next, and then a 250 mm. obviously the 250 is way more expensive than just a fixed, where the feet are the zoom and you can reach very low apertures which I love. I probably just worded all this wrong, and hope that made sense! :) anyway, I was just in debate about what to purchase next, and what you would recommend. I'm still getting my wits about me, and may go with the fixed first, for portraiture as that is what I do, rather than some zoom lens I may not be ready for? okay sorry for the long post. gimme your opinion! ;)
ReplyDeleteI do all of my portraits with an 85mm fixed lens. That lens differs some depending on the camera you have. Mine is a Canon Rebel. However, my friend Julie got the 50mm fixed lens and it makes great portraits and is about 400 dollars cheaper. She has a Nixon but Canon's 50mm is comparable. Her camera is a higher end camera than mine and that makes a difference too as far as sharpness and color goes. She's on my side bar (Julie) I think if a professional put the 85mm on a higher end camera, it would be hard to tell the difference in it and one of the red rimmed Canon lenses and for thousands cheaper! If you want to be able to take great portraits and can't afford to spend thousands, I'd definitely go with the fixed. Check this blog out http://amberferrellphotography.blogspot.com/.
ReplyDeleteThis girl uses a Canon 40D and shoots mainly with 50mm, 85mm, and 100mm fixed lenses.
Btw, if you're going to be changing out lenses a lot, hold your camera upside down as you change it. That will prevent it from pulling dust.
